On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, the annual English reading contest for the 7th grade class winners (Minoo (7a), Krithic (7b), Djordje (7c), Mila (7d) and Mats (7e)) took place at the MWG. The five students read aloud in front of their classmates and a five-member jury consisting of a native English speaker from the parent community, two students from the Q2 advanced English course, and two English teachers. Each student presented both a rehearsed and an unrehearsed text.
All participants were very well prepared and highly motivated, and it was a lot of fun to listen to them! Therefore, it was very difficult for the jury to determine the winner.
However, after two exciting rounds of reading and much applause, the jury announced the final winner: Mats Helberg from class 7e. He will represent our school in the English Reading Contest for the European Schools in Essen next month. We congratulate him warmly and wish him the best of luck in the upcoming round. We will keep our fingers crossed for Mats!
